About Us

The Lorain County Metro Parks system has been established for the responsible use, enjoyment and accessibility of every citizen of Lorain County. The Park District is supported by a 1.6-mill levy property tax, earned income and a variety of sponsors and gifts. Park patrons are able to engage in a wide array of opportunities for experiencing the natural, cultural and recreational assets of Lorain County. Metro Parks public programs are offered year-round for all ages and abilities on a wide variety of topics.

In Oberlin, the Splash Zone aquatic and fitness center, is a popular facility operated year-round by the Lorain County Metro Parks.
